Ellen Sahlin '13 file
Filled with personal memorabilia collected by a
Dana Hall student from 1913, this file gives historians a rare glimpse
into student life during a transitional period in history. Filled
with personal photos, a report card, and even a love letter, this
collection raises many questions. In what ways did Ellen Sahlin
reflect or challenge prevailing values of the day? Was she a holdover
of the Victorian woman, a Progressive reformer of her day, or prelude
to the 1920's flapper?
